Evangelicals Concerned

Hospice of Humboldt
Hospice of Humboldt is queer friendly and is offering a friendly start to the weekend with their Saturday Morning Slipper Club. It is a free, drop in, come as you are (in your slippers) group for those who have experienced the death of a loved one and are looking for an antidote to the Saturday morning blahs. The Slipper Club will meet every Saturday morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Hospice of Humboldt office. Bring a friend- coffee, tea and hot chocolate provided. The Greif Support Services department at Hospice of Humboldt offers free support and education to anyone in the community dealing with issues around grief. Grief support groups are offered five times a week in Eureka, Fortuna, Arcata and McKinleyville. A variety of grief recovery classes and workshops for adults and teens are also available. Soulforce-Humboldt County Chapter
We are starting a local chapter of Soulforce and are starting with several house meetings to invite local LGBT folks to share their experiences with religion, both positive and difficult.  We want to do this for support, to learn about each other's experiences, to possibly, ultimately, develop a speaker's bureau to go around to churches/synagogues and meet with religious leaders or congregations.
